Hydrological Behavior of Karst Systems Identified by Statistical Analyses of Stable Isotope Monitoring Results

The article presents findings of a two-year systematic study stable isotope content in two karst groundwater resources Primorsko-goranska county (Croatia): the Martinšćica wells (MWs) and Dobrica spring (DBC). temporal spatial variation hydrogen oxygen isotopes is commonly studied conjunction with hydrogeological conditions such as dynamics discharge conditions. However, since this information was incomplete, we were forced to work limited data rely on analyses monitoring results. obtained results show that winter precipitation most common recharge source for systems, average residence time water subsurface less than year. Furthermore, MWs system typical dual-porosity dominant base flow. nonparametric regression analysis possibility seawater intrusion into affecting DBC cannot be ruled out. We believe presented paper demonstrate when combined statistical analyses, environmental are powerful tool gaining insights hydrogeology.
